“I suddenly saw the world from an entirely different perspective,” Cate Blanchett said of reading my story “Better Homes and Gardens”.
Cate Blanchett, along with former Governor General Quentin Bryce, was talking about the stories in the new Hope Anthology published by Simon and Schuster.
“It’s very easy for us to turn our heads away from what we don’t want to talk about … that’s why this project is so important. It’s empowering, it’s beautiful writing.” Quentin Bryce said.
Cate and Quentin, along with Kate Grenville, were the judges of the inaugural Hope prize. The prize was set up by the Brotherhood of St Laurence with the aim of transcending stereotypes of the poor.
